Investing in the estate is considered a profitable investment in Tehran. However, the buildings constructed for this purpose are not generally well-designed due to the limitations of the Principal’s demands for maximum use of the space as well as the legal restrictions.
Meanwhile, the meaning of home for the Iranians not only involves deep individual and social concepts that provide the needs of Iranians for diversity, confidentiality, security, and introversion but also expands the relationship of people with the neighborhood in which they live. Hence, in designing the Golestan Residential Complex as a project that is subject to legal and cost limitations, the quality improvement of the residential units was our major challenge through updating the concepts and situations that reveal the concept of home in the minds of individuals.
In order to face this challenge, the followings were the main elements of the project which we had to reproduce them with regards to environmental restrictions.
• Respecting the minds of neighborhood residents
• Playing with light and shadow and receiving the high-quality light in different spaces
• Formation of distinct units
The Golestan Complex is a re-experience of home for us.
